Robert Charles Cook, of St. Louis, Mo., died at his home on September 23, 2019.
He was born on October 3, 1956, in Effingham, Ill., the son of Charles Everett and Sarah Alice (Bush) Cook, who preceded him in death.

Felix “Lance” Callis, age 84, of St. Louis, MO, formerly of Granite City, IL, died on Wednesday, September 25, 2019 at his residence.
Lance Callis graduated from St. Louis University Law School in 1959 and began a long and successful career as a trial lawyer in Granite City, IL. He received numerous awards during his nearly 60 years as a distinguished attorney in the area. He was named by the Illinois Bar Association as a Laureate of the Academy of Illinois Lawyers for his expertise for over 50 years.
ISBA President David Sosin presented the American Lawyers Alliance’s Law-Related Education Teacher of the Year Award to Dennis Brown, a teacher at Huntley High School, on Aug. 9 in San Francisco.
The event coincided with the American Bar Association's 2019 Annual Meeting.
The awards were created to honor teachers who have made significant contributions in the area of law-related education and who have developed programs that have:
ISBA President David Sosin, ISBA President Elect Dennis Orsey, and past ISBA President John Thies were part of the Illinois delegation attending the American Bar Association's House of Delegates meeting, which was held Aug. 12-13 in San Francisco.
The 143rd Annual Meeting was held last week, June 13-15, at the Grand Geneva Resort & Spa in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. Attendees celebrated the accomplishments of the past year, planned for the year ahead, expanded their professional networks, and earned CLE credit. During section meetings and at the Assembly meeting, various members of the ISBA community were recognized with awards. At the Friday reception and program, David Sosin was installed as ISBA president for 2019-20.
The ISBA Assembly met on June 15, during the 2019 Annual Meeting at the Grand Geneva Resort & Spa in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. Several awards were presented during the meeting.
After the installation ceremony, a reception was held in honor of David Sosin, the 2019-2020 ISBA president. Attendees enjoyed cocktails, dancing, and entertainment.
