On Wednesday, May 1, 2024, the Sangamon County Bar Association hosted its annual Law Day program at Maldaner’s restaurant, 222 S. 6th Street, Springfield. Illinois Supreme Court Justice David K. Overstreet served as the keynote speaker.
The 2024 Law Day theme was Voices of Democracy.

The 41st Annual Illinois State Bar Association High School Mock Trial Invitational took place on March 16-17, 2024, at the Public Affairs Center at the University of Illinois in Springfield. Fifty high schools throughout Illinois participated.
First place went to College Preparatory School of America from Lombard.
Second place went to Stevenson High School from Lincolnshire, and Maine South High School from Park Ridge received third place.
The Civility Award recipient was Niles West High School from Skokie.
The Donna E. Schechter Memorial Law Test Award recipient was York Community High School from Elmhurst.
